Obituary of Paul Thomas Buchanan

Paul Thomas Buchanan, 74, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord Friday December 20, 2019. A lifelong resident of Jackson County he was the son of the late Paul S. and Hattie Belle Cabe Buchanan. Paul retired as Manager from Ingles Supermarket after 40 years of service. He was a member of Wesleyanna Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors and loved to hunt but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Paul never met a stranger and he loved watching his favorite sports teams especially Smoky Mountain High School. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Jean Elliott Buchanan 2 Daughters- Jane Buchanan (Don) of Sylva Michelle Pressley (Mike) of Sylva 4 Grandchildren- Levi Buchanan (Ragan), Samantha Buchanan, Kelly Marie Pressley, Jake Pressley 3 Great Grandchildren- Bryce Elizabeth Buchanan, Emma Christina Buchanan, Sydney Rose Junaluska Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday December 22, 2019 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Diane Campbell, Dennis Burrell and Loy Kennedy officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wesleyanna Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Levi Buchanan, Jake Pressley, Rick Shepherd, Will Shepherd, Mike Pressley, Johnny Buchanan
