Obituary
Obituary of Wayne Earl Millsaps
Wayne Earl Millsaps completed his earthly journey and entered his Heavenly Kingdom on Sunday, December 22, 2019. Wayne was born on August 31, 1924 in Murphy NC and was son of the late Earl and Cloia Millsaps of the Tomatla Community. He was preceded in death by his wife Blanche, brother Boyd and sisters Roberta McHan and Fannie Anderson.
Wayne is survived by daughters Janet Millsaps and Pam Ensley (Bill), grandson Seth Millsaps (Zae), great granddaughters Nola and Ellie, special daughter Jennifer Abshire and beloved canine companions Tinkey and Doby. He is also survived by a sister, Helen Dickey. Wayne was a resident of the Addie Community for 60 years and a member of the Buff Creek Baptist Church. Wayne was retired from NC Department of Transportation.
Wayne had a great sense of humor, love of animals, loved to give nicknames to family and friends and was known for lots of ‘Wayneisms’. He also loved sharing rhymes and story telling with children his versions of Rumpelstiltskin, the three billy goats gruff, Mountain Bill and other favorites.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and a mentor to many.
Wayne was very proud to be a World War II veteran where he landed in northern France in August 1944 not long after D-Day.
