Obituary of Frankie Jean Ashe

Frankie Jean Ashe received the greatest Christmas Gift early Christmas morning, December 25, 2019 when God gave her Angel Wings, calling her home to rest. Born January 29, 1933, she was married to Gordon Grover Ashe for 48 years until he preceded her in death on July 27, 1999. Over those 48 years together, they lived, laughed, loved and raised 5 children. Frankie was also preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Grace Elrod, her daughter, Linda Jean Hatcher and her granddaughter, Danielle “Dani” Ashe. She will be fondly remembered for the love she had in life for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as well as the love she had for and gave to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Wayne and Randy Ashe of Sylva, NC, two daughters, Eva Jo (Jody) Hatcher (Tim) of Umatilla, FL & Lisha Shular of Sylva, NC, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, with Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Peter Mudge officiating. Burial will follow in the Stillwell cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Activities Fund at Skyland Care Center of Sylva, NC.
