Obituary of Billy Jene Fisher

Billy Jene Fisher, 90, of Henry Road, Sylva passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020. He was the last living child of Jess and Mollie Cogdill Fisher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Phillips Fisher, and their son, Thomas Neal Fisher, and two infants; five sisters Para Lee Parris, Selma Parris, Sue Patterson, Georgia Mae Watson and Anne English; and two brothers, Thomas Wayne Fisher and Samuel Isaac Fisher. Bill worked throughout his life. He worked at A.C. Lawrence Leather, Unagusta Furniture, W.C. Hennesee Lumber Co., Mayland Stone (Olinine) in Spruce Pine, Heritage Quilts and NC Department of Transportation. Bill was also a farmer and always "kept a good mule." He loved bluegrass music. Several nephews and nieces survive. A special friend, Matt Smith of Robbinsville, also survive. A graveside service will be held at Hoyle Cemetery with Rev. Mike Cogdill officiating. Appalachian Funeral Services assisted the family.
