When I was little, I was with my mom at A&P parking lot and it had rained. I saw a puddle outside when we left. I looked up at my mom and asked “momma do I have my old shoes on?” To which she replied “yes” and I just went and jumped right in and started splashing. My momma always taught me the value of things but most importantly she taught me to respect her and the things she had done for me. She gave me life and a reason to join the Navy like her father before me. Without her I would have just been reckless and jumped into that puddle. In life we all make decisions but she always gave me choices even as a child. I was never spanked and discipline was still there because of the respect and fear of disappointing her. I fell short of that many times and even in that, she always said it was OK and she wouldn’t trade any of the times we ever had together. Love your children, teach them respect, and above all else, treat them how you would want them to treat you. I had my own opinions and she always let me have them and voice them whether I was right or wrong. She always knew how to help me in any situation but best of all I finally got to help her when I was finally the man she and my dad had raised. She always said every day is Mother’s Day to her no matter my age and the holidays we celebrate are for Hallmark cards. The Lord has another angel and for now he can borrow her until we meet again!

I have many fond memories of Regina. My favorite was her and Dana taping me as I sang many songs by the Carpenters. I still have the tapes. Cory, Bessie, Donna and Dana, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May God give you peace and comfort in the days ahead. Love you all.

The words are so far from me right now that could bring you peace. Regina was a beautiful soul, both inside and out. I am so blessed to have know her and called her my friend. May God wrap his loving arms around you and give you strength as you learn to live with her loss from this Earth. Until we all meet again, Julie
