Obituary of Nancy Gail Karsten

Nancy Karsten was born in Holland, Michigan, enjoyed 28 years in Pompano Beach, Florida, and passed peacefully in her mountain home in Tuckasegee, NC. Family always came first for Nancy. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert "Bob" Karsten, her four children, along with their spouses, Tom & Cindy Karsten, Pam & Dave Ureda, Jerry & Cindy Karsten, Jeff Karsten, as well as her adoring grandchildren, Jerry & Jessica Karsten, Jonathan Karsten, Julene Karsten, Amanda & Brent Ferguson, Davis Ureda, Kevin Ureda, Nicholas Ureda, Michelle Karsten, Michael Karsten, and her Great-Granddaughter, Jaely Karsten, as well as her siblings and their spouses, Ken Kuite, Rick & Karen Kuite, including her brother-and-law and his wife, Jack & Martha Karsten, and sister-in-law Linda Kuite. Nancy had many competitive years as a track star at Holland High School. She bowled on several different leagues while in Florida. She always enjoyed a hand of cards, and later found a love of watching golf on television. Nancy was extremely active in directing activities at Trinity Community Church, as well as singing in the choir. Her hobbies included cooking, baking goodies to share, sewing, gardening, and shopping. A Mountain Memorial Service will be held @ 11:00 am, Friday, Oct 10, 2014 at Appalachian Funeral Services, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC 28779.
