Obituary of Dallie Marie Saunders

Dallie Marie Saunders, 83, passed peacefully in her sleep at her home in Tuckasegee Wednesday morning September 17, 2014. Born in Swain County she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Flora Brindle Woodard. She was a Member of Tuckasegee Wesleyan Church. She loved her flowers and taking care of her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Harley Saunders, 4 brothers-George, Berlin, Bill and Craig Woodard and by 3 sisters- Lottie, Nancy and Leather Woodard. She is survived by 1-Son- James D. Saunders of Tuckasegee 3 Daughters- Anna Alvey and Rita McGraw of Tuckasegee and Bernice Queen of Caney Fork 2 Sisters- Eliza Woodard of Bryson City and Dorothy Woodard of Whittier 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren also survive The family will receive friends Saturday September 20 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Appalachian Funeral Services. A graveside service will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens .
