Obituary of Mary Jo Allen

Mary Jo Allen, age 74, of Sylva died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Mission Hospital of Asheville, NC. Mrs. Allen was born July 15, 1942 in Jackson County, NC. She is the daughter of the late Tony Warren and the late Helen L. (Shepard) McDowell. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter Allen and a brother, Robert Shepard. Mary Jo was employed by WCU as a custodian. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, she loved working in her flowers, and having a good time and enjoyed listening to music. She is survived by a daughter, Helen DeHart, a grand daughter, Tracy Shepard, and a male companion, Bobby Ramsey; sisters, Marie McDonald, and Cathy Comman, a brother, James Edward Shepard, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday July 26 at Liberty Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Church. Following the Service the family will be gathering at JoJo's residence at 587 Chipper Curve Rd, Sylva. . .
