Obituary of Alfred George Baker

Alfred George Baker, age 89, of Tuckasegee died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Skyland Care Center of Sylva, NC. Mr. Baker was born November 4, 1926 in Buffalo, NY and was the son of the late John Alfred and Marcella (Hulpiau) Baker. He was married to the former Lucille Lyon who preceded him in death in 2014. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and was retired from the USPS as a mail handler. He is survived by a son; Paul (Patsy) Baker of Tuckasegee, and three daughters: Lynne Buell of Marietta, GA, Susan (Rod) Crumpacker of Upland, CA and Cheryl (Vinny) Panzarella of Buffalo, NY. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren as well as 6 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 1 grandchild. Alfred was an avid bowler and also enjoyed working with his hands. For 22 years he enjoyed being a Master Gardener with the Pinellas Co. Extention Service. No services are planned at this time. . .
