Obituary of Christopher Allen Bates

Christopher Allen Bates 25 of Sylva, NC passed away Monday August 1, 2016. He is the son of Conrad Bates and Mary Bates. In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived by two sisters, Roxanna Bridges and Bridget Bates both of Sylva; grandparents Sue Brown and James and Lou Ellen Bates; great-grandmother Mary Ruth Cobb; one niece Gracie Evitt and one nephew Gabriel Bridges. Christopher loved motorcycle racing, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and ginseng digging. He was an adrenaline seeker who had a heart of gold. His dog Bella was his pride and joy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Leonard Luker, Rev. Michael Queen, and Rev. Marcus Owen officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sols Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be to Appalachian Funeral Services to help with funeral expenses.
