Obituary of Clint Mathis

Clint Mathis, 78, of Sylva, passed away Wednesday August 17, 2016. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. He was the son of the late Bowden and Myrtle Robinson Mathis. Clint loved the outdoors, digging ginseng and telling stories of his past. He enjoyed building things and was a carpenter by trade. He is survived by his children- Alecia Estes (Eddie) of Whittier Karen Grant (David) Michelle Mathis of Sylva Jamie Mathis (Pam) of Franklin 4 Sisters- Blanche Allen, Effie Mathis, Betty Bradley all of Sylva and Joann Ellis (Billy) of Hayesville Longtime companion Marvita McMahon Several Grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be held at a later date and will be private . .
