Obituary of Frances Carroll Coggins

Frances Carroll Coggins died Wednesday, August 17 at the age of 95. She was born September 25, 1920 the fourth of seven children of Mae and Emery Carroll. Although she loved to travel, her favorite place and her home was Cullowhee, NC. She retired from the Food Service Department at Western Carolina University. For more than twenty-five years, she was a volunteer at the Harris Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop. Frances was a member of Woodland Church of Christ. She spent her life caring for and encouraging family and friends as she shared her Christian love with others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lambert Coggins, her infant daughter, Helen, her daughter Margie Rice, four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kreitlow and husband Bill, her daughter Judith Allison, a son-in-law, David Rice, a sister, mary (Pat) Bryson, Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 21 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
