I met Steve when we started Kindergarten long time ago at Fulford Methodist Church in N.Miami Beach, Florida we were both from Ojus and carpooled together. I think he went to Catholic school and I went to Public School next. Then in Jr. High school we had the same Bus Stop and began hanging out during our Teenage years. I spent many afternoons listening to him practice the Guitar once he was good enough to listen to. If you closed your eyes you would think it was Jimmy Hendricks. He surf and I tried to surf, I was a real cowboy so did not have much time for much else except I loved the Beach. I like most everyone as we grow older and start Families we move on and there is not enough time to do everything. We kept in touch by FB I think the last time I saw Steve and Susan and they kids was the early 80's still hard to imagine he is gone he was a Great Guy Rest in Peace Old Friend. Kind Regards Roy

My deepest condolences to the family. It was an honor to have known Steve. But it has been more of an honor to have had the opportunity to have played music with him. May you find comfort in this difficult time.

36 years ago I moved to Sylva. I was a city boy new to a small rural country town. I needed help. Within hours of arriving Steve was at my door helping move refrigerators, fixing broken doors, and welcoming me with his common sense knowledge and sick sense of humor. We soon realized we shared much in common and quickly became best buds. I've literally spent thousands of hours with him. Not an hour goes by now and I get kicked in the stomach again realizing I won't be able to see him tomorrow. Ask me what I like about that. Not a god damned thing.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Steve's passing this week. I knew Steve since high school and we played together for quite a while. He was one of the best guitarists I've seen and more than that a genuine person. My fondest memories were in a band with him playing local teen clubs, hotels on the beach and a cruise ship. So happy that we recently reconnected. We will miss you my friend. Mark and Laura Bray
