Obituary of Margaret Faye Whitaker

Margaret Faye Whitaker, known to most simply as Faye, passed away while sleeping comfortably September 4th, 2016. She was 103 years old. Faye was born May 23rd, 1913 in Sylva to parents Doc and Eva Harris. She grew up with her two brothers and four sisters, of whom she had many stories to share. She was a lifelong member of Scotts Creek Baptist Church, fondly recollecting walking there as a child to see horses hitched outside to nearby trees. There was no question about her enduring faith and devotion to The Lord. She was well-known and well-liked by everyone she met. Her smile, humor, and cheerful attitude are fondly remembered by those who knew her. She is survived by her grandson, Timothy Fincannon, and great-grandchildren, James and Nicia Fincannon. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 10th, at 1:00PM at Scotts Creek Baptist Church, in Sylva, North Carolina.
