Obituary of Kathryn Neville McJunkin-Brown

Kathryn Neville McJunkin-Brown, age 97, of Cullowhee died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at home in Cullowhee. Mrs. McJunkin-Brown was born January 30, 1919 in Demorest County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Neville and the late Jesse Moselle (Pitts) McJunkin. She was employed as an Aviation Instructor and was one of the first female crop dusters in North Carolina. She is survived by one son: Don L Brown of Cullowhee, NC; one daughter: Mary Lou Conley of Hilliard, OH; and one grandson: Zachary Paul Brown also of Cullowhee. She is also survived by one brother: Joseph Morgan McJunkin and one sister Jerri Lee Jones. She was preceded in death by two sons: Paul C. Brown and Neville L. Brown; and one daughter Marjorie Kay Brown. The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, September 30 at Appalachian Funeral Services Chapel, 165 Skyland Dr., Sylva, NC with officiating. A private family burial will follow in St. David's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Cullowhee, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service at Appalachian Funeral Services And Crematorium, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC. .
