Obituary of James Edgar Meeks

James Edgar Meeks, 73, of Sylva, passed away Monday September 26, 2016. The son of the late Alvin and Gustava Meeks, he is a native of Florida and had lived in Jackson County for almost 40 years. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and was a member of Ochre Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Barbara Dotson Meeks and by his grandson Keith Daniel Meeks. He is survived by 3 children, Son- Tim Meeks of Sylva, Daughter- Pam Meeks Ellis (David) of Asheville, Son- Corey Meeks (Deb) of Sylva 8 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren Brothers- Austin, Johnny and Lamar Meeks Sisters- Betty and Lavelle Meeks Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Services will be private . .
