Obituary of Charles Thomas Dotson

Charles Thomas Dotson, 70, passed away at his residence in Sylva, NC, Thursday October 27, 2016. Charles was born in Haywood County, NC, June 20, 1946 to the late Thomas Edwin and Ruth Hunter Dotson. Charles was a longtime member of Buff Creek Baptist Church in Sylva, where he was ordained and served as Deacon and Sunday School Director. He also served with the Boy Scouts of America as Scout Master of Troop 999 in Jackson County for 13 years. He retired from GTE Telephone Company and Lucent Technologies. He was a devout Christian, loving husband and father. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother; Michael Dotson and a sister; Pansy Elaine Dotson. When Charles passed from this life into the light of our Father, he left no shadows. Charles is survived by his wife of 48 years Betty Jean Branum Dotson Son- Charles Thomas Dotson Jr. of Portland, Oregon Daughter- Betsy Suzanne Dawes (Fred) of Graham, NC 3 Grandchildren- Xavier Blu and Henry Huxley Dotson, Emille Catherine Dawes 3 Brothers- Roger, Fairda and Danny George Dotson 3 Sisters- Kathy Moore, Pamela Lipe (John), Kitzi Sharp 2 Special Aunts- Ruth Shipman and Leona Waters A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday November 6 at Buff Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the Service at the Church, at all other times the family will be at the home. . .
