Les was such a big man with a big heart. He was happiest being with his family and being on the golf course. I feel so fortunate to have known such a kind and gentle man.

To my brother, Les, who has been my hero all my life. From my earliest memories of your visits home on leave from the Navy, when you showered your younger siblings with love, attention, and affection to most recent times spent with you at Mountain View Manor, I will cherish these memories forever. Thank you, brother, for sharing your life and times with me. I learned so much about the man you were, and how great and positive an impact you had on the people whose lives you touched. I know that I am a better, stronger person for having had a wonderful big brother like you. I will love you always, and I hope that I can live up to your legacy of generosity, loving-kindness, and unconditional love. Rest in peace, Les. I will see you in heaven.

Although I only knew Mr Odum from his visits to Meineke, he was always wearing a big smile and friendly. My prayers go out to all his family during this trying time.

Les or better known as " Sonny Boy " was a very special person who was loved by everyone who had the privilege to know him. He was a true friend who would give you the shirt off of his back. He was always the life of the party and will be tremendously missed by everyone! I Love You Sonny Boy, rest in peace! Ina, we will be praying for you that GOD would give you His peace that surpasses all understanding!

Peace to all of the family. I am one of the lucky ones to have special memories of such a fantastic man. And a man he was! Les has earned his wings. I have no doubt there was a large welcoming committee for his arrival to his new life. He will be greatly missed on this side. Love to you all.

I got a call at 10pm Friday night. A call I knew would come but I did not think it would be so soon. My step-dad Les passed away peacefully Friday night. I had the pleasure of being with him most of the day Friday and we had a good day together. Les is my hero; a trouper through these entire 14 months. Full of life and that laugh that gave even the ones who could not smile, a smile. We thought we were losing him back in early 2016; he was a Hospice Survivor. I made a shirt for Les that said " Hospice Graduate, I came out of this Alive". He loved that shirt and was so proud of it. He beat the odds, however as we all know, there comes a time. It was Les' time and what a good life Les had! I wrote a poem for Les back in the early Spring 2016; he kept this poem close at hand. Les, you are a Dad to me, I will cherish our times and love you very much. What you taught me was that even through the toughest times, "keep your head up girlie"! I will be seeing you again and in the meantime, keep on smiling!
Into the flat lands where the sugar sand is hot
This old house with memories…
Some fond ones, some not
Winds of change…
He embarks into this world,
Foreign ports are calling; your duty was honored and well served
A love once lost has come full circle,
The hands of time reverse…
Yesterday still remembered
Strong as an ox, whose heart is tender
A stranger by the road,
He halts and rolls down the window…
A laugh one could sell as the story begins,
“Let me tell you ….” eyes sparkle with a mischievous grin
Family gatherings…
Dusk and dawn appear the same,
Courage and dignity; where love unconditionally remains
