Obituary of Audrie Marie Chastain

Audrie "Marie" Chastain, 72, of Tuckasegee, went home to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family, Wednesday November 23, 2016. A native of Jackson County she was born in the Sugar Loaf Community to the late Albert Gilead and Martha Belle Watson. She enjoyed crocheting; studying her Bible, cooking large meals for her family but her passion was taking care of children. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband John Richard Brinkley Chastain and by her great grandson Kayson Ryder Trantham. She is survived by; Daughter- Teresa (Charles) Trantham of Tuckasegee Son- Mark (Michelle) Chastain of Tuckasegee 3 Grandchildren; Derrek Trantham, Madalyn Chastain, Makayla Chastain 2 Step Great Grandchildren- Julia and Brayden Mace 3 Brothers- Mitchell and Denny Watson of Cullowhee, Jeff Watson of Bremerton, Wash. 2 Sisters- Linda Fisher and Gladys Lee of Cullowhee Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday November 26 at Trout Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Stiles, Tommy Holden, Jim Ed Powell and Steve Webb officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening November 25 at Appalachian Funeral Services. Burial will be in Wike Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derrek Trantham, Robert Fisher, Zachary Potts, Levi Woodring, Brandon Lee and Keith Chastain In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wike Cemetery Fund, c/o Greg Wike, 7730 Bridle Ct, Charlotte, NC 28216 .
