Obituary of Anne Alice Buchanan

Anne Alice Buchanan, age 97, passed away at Fletcher, NC on December 30, 2016. She was born in Sylva, NC and is the daughter of the late Fred and Ella (Collins) Barron. She was married to the late Don Buchanan. She was a homemaker and was a member of Love's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Frank Barron and Robert Barron; and three sisters: Rose Webb, Etta Guffey, and Effie Davis. She is survived by one daughter; Sherry (Ralph) Singleton: one grandson; Chris (Heidi) Morrow: and one granddaughter; Jennifer (Paul) Calvert. She is further survived by 4 great grandchildren; Garrett Morrow, Anne-Elizabeth Calvert, Andrew Calvert, and Erin Calvert as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd at Love's Chapel United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the church one prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Appalachian Funeral Services and Crematorium is serving the family.
