Obituary of Wayne Travis Watkins

Travis Watkins, 46, of Whittier, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning January 18, 2017, after a courageous fight with cancer. A carpenter by trade, he loved camping, fishing, and riding his motorcycle and four wheeler with family and friends. He is the son of Shirley Owenby Ward of Sylva, grandson of maternal grandmother Gladys Kimsey of Whittier and son-in-law of Pryde Farmer of Sylva. He is survived by his loving wife (of 5years) and devoted mate (of 7years) Angela Farmer Watkins 4 Children- Jessica (Mark) Kemper of Enka- Candler Dillon Watkins of Cullowhee Ashlin Beck of Sylva Amanda Sutton of Waynesville 6 Grandsons and 2 Granddaughters Uncle- Mike (Nada) Meadows of Sylva Brother-in-Law- Scott (Ginger) Farmer of Cullowhee And several cousins, nephews and a lifelong buddy Olin Stiles of Dicks Creek also survive A Memorial Celebration will be held 4:00 PM Sunday January 29, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Ashe officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Service from 3:00 until 4:00 at the Church.
