Obituary of Jerry David Newlon

Jerry Newlon, of Whittier, NC went on the ultimate fishing trip with our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 2, 2017. Mr. Newlon is survived by his wife, two married children, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, his sister, and five nieces and nephews. Jerry loved the lord, his family, this country, and fishing. Mr. Newlon sacrificed much for his family, his wife repeatedly, and his country, serving in the U.S. Navy then U. S. Air Force until he retired. He also retired from Duke Energy. He will receive full military honors at a yet unknown date following his cremation on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. The family will receive friends on Tuesday February 7, 2017 from 10am-11am at Appalachian Funeral Services, with a memorial mass at 11am. The family has asked, to honor a close friend suffering from this disease, that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at either lbda.org or mailed to Lewy Body Association, Inc. 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
