Obituary of Joe Jerry Ward
Joe Jerry Ward, 78, of Edenton, formerly of Whittier, passed away Friday February 3, 2017. Mr. Ward was born in Jackson County, April 29, 1938 and was the son of the late Narvin Washington Ward and Lula Ashe Ward. A retired saw mill worker, he was a member of Wilmont Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Eleanor Cook, Pearl Hollingsworth, Margaret Hill, Dorothy Turpin and Rosella Mathis, brothers; Freddy, Kenneth, Jack, Charles and Roy Ward, and by the mother of his son; Patsy Elouise Nations.
Surviving are his son, Jerry Steven Ward of Bryson City
Friend and companion- Joyce Fogelsong (Calamity Jane) of Edenton
2 Sisters- Frankie Dean of Sylva
Ruby Morgan of Bryson City
3 Grandchildren also survive
A memorial Service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday February 12 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home.
