Obituary of Rufus Candler Buchanan

Rufus Candler "RC" Buchanan Jr, 68, of Sylva passed away on February 6th at his residence. He was the husband of the late Gene Buchanan and also the son of the late Rufus and Mary Buchanan. He was retired. He was the co-owner of Buchanan Mobile Home Service and loved hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by one son; Larry Buchanan, one daughter; LeAnn Buchanan, and one half brother; Jim Jones, all of Sylva. He is survived by one son; Michael (Amanda) Buchanan of Shelby, NC, two grandsons; Corey Buchanan and Cole Buchanan, one granddaughter; Charley Kate Buchanan, and one great granddaughter; Bristol Madison Buchanan. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 7101 Creedmoor Rd., Suite 130, Raleigh, NC 27613. Appalachian Funeral Services and Crematorium is serving the family.
