Obituary of Mildred Edith Patterson

Mildred Bradley Patterson, 96, of the Barkers Creek Community, went home to be with her Lord Sunday February 12, 2017. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Myrtle Brooks Bradley. Mildred was a founding member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and loved reading, especially her Bible. She also enjoyed working puzzles and being with her family. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Roy "Bud" Patterson, who passed away in 1973, and by her three sisters; Viola Jones, Eloise Atchley and Mary Alice Sutton and by her brother Ralph Bradley. She is survived by her loving children; Janice Kaye Patterson of Sylva Donna Crawford (Ray) of the Barkers Creek Community Gary Patterson (Brenda) of Sylva 4 Cherished Granddaughters- Kristy Cunningham (Tom), Laura Merritt (BT), Trinna Black (Don), Heather Alyse Snyder (Aaron) 4 Great Grandchildren- Connor and Megan Cunningham, Greyson and Penelope Snyder Several nieces, nephews and special friends also survive. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday February 15 at Mt.Zion Baptist Church in Dillsboro with the Rev. Tommy Ashe officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services. Burial will be in Bradley Cemetery at Old Savannah Cemetery.
