Virgil Holland was a great man. He was a strong Christian man, loving and devoted husband and father, and grandfather. Virgil treated me like a son. What a great man, who had lost three daughters in almost as many years, to hand over to me his only daughter, the love of my life.
"Pa" has gone to be with Nana, and his baby girls. We'll see you later Pa. love you.

Brenda, Sean and family. I don't need to tell you how I loved your dad and your mom. They will always be special in my heart. I am so sorry for your loss. I know this is an especially hard time. Your dad took such great care of your mom. He was so wonderful and loving and would have traded positions with her if he could have. His ongoing strength was a great example of how love should be.The Lord was pleased indeed. I know where Virgil is, God called his servant home and I know right now he is happy again. He and Dorothy are together again, holding hands and smiling. Boy what a great reunion it will be when we all get there together. What a joyful day that will be.
Much love to all of you,
Carol Vancleve

My prayers to Brenda and her family. Virgil and Dot rented a house from my parents for many years. They were so sweet and such good neighbors. Virgil even dropped off my sister and me at Sylva Elementary on his way to work for several years. I have fond memories of them both. Virgil was a wonderful man and he had the sweetest smile. I'm sure he will be missed by many.

Brenda. I, too, am at a loss for words on your daddy's passing. I was so shocked to hear about his death this morning in Sunday School. I knew he was in the hospital but could not believe he had died last night. I know your Mom was so glad to see him. We enjoyed the beautiful flowers he had put in the church this morning in her memory. You were blessed to have both a good daddy and mom - both very devoted church members. I will miss Virgil at church. So glad he didn't have to lay and suffer for many days
