Obituary of Sally Christine Woodard

Ch Sally Christine Woodard, 89, of Sylva, NC passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at her residence. She is the daughter of the late Harley and Minnie Burnette. She was preceded in death by her husband William Verley Woodard who passed away on December 19, 2003. Christine was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was a devoted housewife and was the rock of the family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by six children, Barbara Sorrells and husband Raymond of Cullowhee, Troy Woodard and wife Burnice of Franklin, Irene Welch and Husband Doug Welch of Sylva, Pauline Ledford and husband Jim of Franklin, Thelma Angel and husband Doug of Franklin and George Woodard of Sylva; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one daughter in law Rachel Woodard of Sylva; one son in law Foreman Bradley of Sylva; two sisters Edna and Shelby; five brothers Don, Dover, Holbert, Joe and Buster. She was preceded in death by two children, Lewis Woodard and Sandra Bradley; one grandchild Cody Angel. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Stillwell, Rev. Wesley Hooper and Rev. Jason Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the church before the service. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery fund c/o Mary Wilson, 3110 Pumpkintown Rd.
