Obituary of Ida Mae Bryson

Ida Mae Bryson, 90, of formally Cullowhee, NC passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Silver Bluff Nursing Center in Canton, NC. She is the daughter of the late John and Lola Gentry. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Eugene Bryson. She was a member of Cullowhee Garden Club and Speedwell Methodist Church, most recently she became a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church in Dobson. She loved to volunteer her time to help people out and spend time doing her flower garden. She worked for the Department of Social Services in Jackson County for 18 years. She is survived two daughters, Carolyn Johnson and husband Randy of Dobson, NC, Joyce Bryson Schoer of Waynesville, NC; five grandchildren Stephanie Schoer, Amber Schoer, Paige Schoer, Samuel Johnson and Rachael Powell; one sister Sue Baker of Greenville, TN; two nieces Freda Turbyfiel and Cindy Walter Preceded in death by one sister Betty Waters. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 3:00pm at Appalachian Funeral Services. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Appalachian Funeral Services is handling arrangments.
