Obituary of Arvol Owen

Arvol Owen, 82, passed away Saturday March 4, 2016. He was the son of the late Pierson and Mandy (Queen) Owen. He loved fishing and hunting. Arvol is survived by his wife of 14 years, Birdene (Buchanan) Owen; one sister; Imo Gene Osteen; one son, Bobby (Marlene) Owen; and three daughters, Carlene (Jimmy) Galloway, Janet (James) Davis, and Diane Melton. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Chris Owen, Casey Owen, Ethan Owen, David Galloway, Dianna Palmer, Kelsey Smith, Colby Davis, Kylee Davis, Jason Wingate, Angela Littlejohn, Jamie Melton, and great grandchildren: Pierson Owen, Paige Owen, Branson Palmer, Braxton Smith, Aleta Fisher, Piper Littlejohn, Dalilah Littlejohn, Haley Wingate, Hannah Wingate, Blake Wingate, Abigail Melton, and Reece Melton. In addition to his parents, Arvol is preceded in death by his first wife, Imo Jean (Bates) Owen, one brother; Roland Owen, and 3 sisters, Sally McCall, Wilma Grant, and Billie Gravley. The family will receive friends, from 5pm-7pm, on Thursday, March 9th, 2017 at Appalachian Funeral Services. The Funeral will be held at 2pm, Friday, March 10th, 2017, at Charley's Creek Baptist Church.
