Obituary of Della Mae Reece

Della Mae Reece, 63, a lifelong resident of both Haywood and Jackson counties passed peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Friday March 31st, 2017. Ms. Reece was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ellen Reece; Brothers, Pete, Joe, and Johnny Reece; One son, Steve Clint Franks; Nephew Brain Reece, and Great Granddaughter Alexia Reece. She is survived by her sister, Lola (Jerry) Ledford of Waynesville; Son Freddy Reece of Waynesville; Daughters Della "Sissy" Barnette (Darnell), Mollie Ledford (Jeff Cabe), Vicki Ledford (Michael Wells); Step-sons Jerry, Tommy, and Danny Ledford. 14 Grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews also survive. Ms. Reece is also survived by her two best friends Polly Sutton and Kathy Mitchell. Family and friends will gather on Sunday, April 9th, 2017 at 2pm for a celebration of life led by Chuck Francis, a lifelong friend. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Appalachian Funeral Services to help off-set funeral costs.
