Obituary of George McKinley Conner

George McKinley Conner, 78, of the Trout Creek Community, passed away Friday April 14, 2017. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Claude and Bonnie Lee Swanson Conner. George retired after 40+ years from Blythe Construction; he enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Katherine; and sisters Louise Conner and Elizabeth Patterson. He is survived by 3 sons; Alan Conner (Patty) of Clinton, NC Adrian Conner of Tuckasegee Douglas Conner (Ashley) of Tuckasegee 6 Grandchildren- Mac, Clint, Doug Jr., Brett, Dalton and Jasmine 2 Brothers- Bill Conner of the Heddy Mountain Community and James Ray Conner of Glenville 4 Sisters- Eula Mae Kilby of Caney Fork, Cora Lee Shuler of Sylva, Bonnie Brown of Carthage, NC and Gracie Pearl Crabtree of Vass, NC Numerous nieces and nephews also survive Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday April 19 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Johnny Norris officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Addie Cemetery. .
