Obituary of Icelene Price

Icelene Price, 89 of Tuckasegee passed away on Tuesday May 9th, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Griffen and Olia Brown. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by the children's father, Virgil Mathis. She was also preceded in death by her husbands Birder Mathis and James Price. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Blanche Mathis, one granddaughter, two great- granddaughters, three great-grandsons, two sisters, and two brothers. Survivors include three sons; Leoda Mathis, Cornelius (Linda) Mathis, Dennis Mathis, three daughters; Bonnie (Roger) Melton, Mary Brown, and Debbie (Johnny) Allison. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, one stepson, James Lee (Shirley) Price, one sister, Nellie Griner, two brothers, Clydeth (Bea) Brown, Warner (Ellen) Brown, and her favorite dog "Spot". Icelene loved her family dearly, her flowers and big Sunday dinners with her family. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 12th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Mathis Cemetery. .
