Obituary of Clifford McClain Sutton

Clifford McClain "Mack" Sutton, age 89, of Bryson City died Friday, June 2, 2017. Mr. Sutton was born February 4, 1928 in Jackson County, NC. He was the son of the late Walter and Lila (Turpin) Sutton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 3 sisters; Mary Audrey Sutton Buchanan, Alma Jean Sutton Pullium, and Rebecca Lucille Sutton Lambert as well as 2 brothers; Beauford Hayes Sutton and Perry Daniel Sutton. He is survived by his wife; Frankie (O'Diear) Sutton, 1 brother; Walter Huey (Jewel) Sutton, 2 stepdaughters; Diane Bowers Snyder and Darlene Bowers (Scott) Crisp and 1 stepson; Samuel Kenneth (Tiffany) Bowers. Also surviving are 6 step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a loving church family as well as his genealogy crew. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 4th at Appalachian Funeral Services Chapel with Pastor Tony Cochran and Preacher Lowell York officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Nations Creek Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Scott Sutton, Mike Buchanan, Eddie Pullium, David Sutton, Curtis Lambert, and Stan Sutton.
