Oh Lorraine, John and David
Our family here is not that big any more. We have lost a wonderful man here. We counted on more time. Please know how much we love you. We are going to miss Uncle John so much. I loved his stories and his wonderful humor. Golly, he had some jokes. He really liked to see people smile. Danny and I loved him. We are with you in this time.

We are saddened to learn that Mr. John is no longer present physically here with us but has entered his permanent home with a new glorified body. He has probably already danced for Jesus around the throne. We sincerely admired Mr. John and counted him one of our dear friends. Ray is unable to attend events very much. He has parkinsons. Please know we will keep your family in our prayers. Love in Christ, Ray & Jerri Kinsland

John was a colleague of mine at Cherokee Central Schools, or at least that was the way it felt, although he was technically my boss. While working at Cherokee, John helped me navigate Western North Carolina University in order to earn my elementary certification. I would have been lost without his help. I'm also going to miss his corny jokes, he had such a great sense of humor.Thank you, John!

John and I worked together for over 20 years at Cherokee. I loved his wonderful sense of humor. He was a good friend. He did everything from Teacher to Central Office. He was the In-school suspension teacher for awhile. That didn't work too well, because the kids would get in trouble on purpose just to get to be with John! He was a joy to be around. My prayers and thoughts are with his loved ones. This world lost a good one, and Heaven gained one.
