Obituary of Lewis Robert Fisher

Lewis Robert Fisher, 89, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday June 20, 2017. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Margaret Mills Fisher. A U. S. Army veteran, he was an electrician by trade; and was a very passionate outdoorsman, who loved to trout fish. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Hilda Wood Fisher; 2 of their children; Donna Jean and Greg and by his siblings William "Bill" Fisher, Ben "Ray" Fisher, Burlin Fisher, Dorothy Brittingham, Ethel Meadows and Mildred Cloer. He is survived by 3 Daughters- Brenda Fisher Bryan (Justin) of Sylva Sandra Diane Reese (Dennis) of Kings Mt., NC Sherry Lynn Fisher of Kings Mt., NC 2 Sons- Gary Fisher (Bess) of Marshall, NC Scott Fisher (Elisa) of Gastonia Sister- Ruby Evans of Maggie Valley Brother- Jerry Fisher of Cullowhee 19 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday June 29 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Phillip Wyatt officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Balsam Grove Cemetery.
