Obituary of Louise Smith
Louise Staton Smith 89, of Sylva, NC. Graduated to Glory Monday February 13, 2012 in Haywood County Hospital. She was born March 4, 1922 in Union County N.C. to the Late Thomas Washington and Lola Eveline Link Staton.
Growing up in the eastern part of N.C., she graduated from Garland High School. After graduation she moved to Lexington to work at Coble Dairy, where she met her husband Aldine (Joe) C. Smith. They moved to High Point and Louise began working for Adams-Mills Hosiery Mills. She retired forty years later and she and Joe began traveling to areas of interest anywhere in the U.S. as often as they could. After several medical setbacks for both of them they moved to Sylva to live with their daughter and her husband. Her greatest joy was to be outside working in her flower garden. Her yard in High Point was quite a showplace. When she could not be outside she was working on some craft project that probably involved sewing or painting. Louise loved the Lord and the Church and she was a faithful member of High Point Calvary Church of the Nazarene and later Waynesville Lakeview Church of the Nazarene
