Obituary of Gretchen Ann Dilks

Gretchen Ann Dilks (Rabe) 82 of Sylva, NC passed away on Thursday June 22, 2017. She was born May 22, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Gertrude and William Rabe. Also preceding her in death was her husband David Dilks; brother, Bill Rabe; and her son, Peter Dilks. Ms. Dilks is survived by her sons David Dilks of NC and Jon (Jaime) Dilks of Colorado; grandchildren, Dillon and Logan Dilks of Missouri; Adam, Sariah, Rebecca and Isaac Dilks of Colorado, Peter Dilks (Rachel Smith) of Missouri; nephews, Steve (Cathy) Rabe of Colorado and Bill (Susan) Rabe of Texas; niece, Susan Busse of Maryland and many other family members. Gretchen was very family oriented and loved to spend time with them. She was very active in her church and community exemplifying her Lord in charity and service, always taking care of others before herself. She loved doing crafts and creating things for family and friends. She is greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. and a memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Blake J. Daniel officiating. .
