Obituary of Ernest Vance Millsaps

Ernest Vance Millsaps, 82, of Tuckasegee passed away on Thursday, August 10th, 2017. He was the son of the late Rev. Jessie and Elizabeth (Wilcox) Millsaps. He served in the Air Force and retired from Nantahala Power and Light. He loved to till the land, being active outdoors, and loved his family dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters; Raye Hall, Violet Graves, Ruby Middleton, and Pearl Woods. He is survived by his children; Cindy (Earl) Cross, David Millsaps, Sheila (David) Watson, Shannon Millsaps, and Gregory (Ursula) Millsaps, as well as twelve grandchildren and one great grandson. He is further survived by two sisters; Marietta Robinson and Velma Stephens, and two brothers; Darryl Millsaps and Paul Millsaps. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 19th at Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Earl Cross officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Appalachian Funeral Services is serving the family.
