I was so sorry to read of Clyde's passing. I met him through the postal service. He helped me out more than once when I was working at the Whittier Post Office. He was always cheerful and friendly and my customers liked him.
I offer my deepest sympathy and prayers to Clyde's family and friends.

Clyde and I were such an unlikely pair of friends. Moving here was so hard on me, more so than my husband. I am a very talkative and social person. Now, Clyde being of very good nature, always let me ramble on and on about who knows what! I would walk our three dogs down the mountain and Clyde, he'd be busy, always busy doing something that was probably most important, but he'd let our dogs run amuck in his garden, creek, or jump all over him while I was constantly chattering and asking him a million questions about what he was doing. One of my favorite moments, although there were so many, was when he was telling me about the problem that he was having with "our" garden. Actually, it was his garden that I actually just moved my veggies to, but anyways! A gopher had started to invade his okra. He showed me how he had lowered the electric fence so that "George" as I had named him, would stop eating his okra. Clyde had also tried to trap him, to no avail. The next time I had seen Clyde, I had asked him how George was doing. He ever so kindly told me, " Well, Barbara. George had to die. " Immediately I realized that Clyde was a man that didn't like anyone or anything coming between him and his okra. Duly noted, Clyde. Duly noted. Words cannot express how much you will be missed. Don't worry about Katherine, Clyde. We will all take good care of her until we meet again at Heaven's Gate. ❤️

I'm sending love and prayers to comfort Clyde's faithful wife and their dear son. Katherine has been faithful and diligent in caring for Clyde during their many years together, and especially the last few years during his illness. I pray that the Lord will bless and strengthen her now as she faces the next chapter of her life. Clyde was a dear friend. I learned so much from him related to animal care and North Carolina farm life. He was a wonderful person and always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help with something. I will miss him, as will many other people whose lives he touched over the years. I hope to keep in close touch with his wife, my dear friend, Katherine.

Dear family,
So sorry to hear of the passing of my good friend, Clyde. He was always smiling and caring about others. I am thankful to have known him through my postal career.
Also, my mom and Charlotte were best friends in grade school. Your family has been dear to us for many years.
May God comfort your heart as we all think on the fact that Clyde is now without pain and praising our Savior, Jesus.
Love in Christ.
