Obituary of Cyritha Ann West

Rev. Cyritha Ann "Rea" West of Franklin, NC passed away Friday, August 25, 2017. She was a native of Jackson County and raised in Cullowhee, NC. She was the daughter of the late William and Ella Mae Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister; Patricia Rogers. She was an associate Minister at God's Holy Tabernacle in Sylva, NC. Affectionally known as Rea to friends and Memaw to family and loved ones, she worked as a daycare provider, finally retiring after working as a CNA for several years. She is survived by her husband of 38 years; Bishop Adam West Jr., 4 children; Adam F. West of San Antonio, TX, Denise Brown of Nashville, TN, Brandyon Rogers of Wilmington, NC, and Marcus West of Franklin, NC. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 brothers; Tommy Rogers of Waynesville, NC, Stanley Rogers of Cullowhee, NC, Dennis Rogers (Sherri) of Bryson City, NC, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 1st at Appalachian Funeral Services with Bishop Adam West and Rev Wanda Moore officiating. Burial will follow in AME Zion Church Cemetery In Cullowhee. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31st from 6 -9 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services.
