Obituary of Nina Lynn Townsend

Nina Lynn Townsend, age 54, of Sylva passed Monday, August 28, 2017. Ms. Townsend was born July 26, 1963 in El Paso, TX. She is the daughter of the late Robert and the late Wilma Jean (Zook) Kleinfelter. She was married to her husband James Townsend for 27 years. Nina grew up in Indiana and moved to Sylva in August of 2016. She worked at Harrah's Cherokee Casino. Nina was a caring woman who was loved by everyone who knew her. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son John Townsend; one sister Barbara Kleinfelter; two brothers James and Roy Kleinfleter; two sister in laws Laurie (John) Forrest and Michelle Townsend; one brother in law Michael Townsend and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister Roberta Kleinfelter and one brother John Kleinfelter. Funeral Services will be held Sunday September 3, 2017 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Reed Benson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm – 3:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will be having a friends gathering after the services on Sunday at James' home.
