Obituary of Hazel Clement Owen

Hazel Clement Owen, 87, went home to be with Her Lord, Saturday February 25, 2012 at Medwest Harris Hospital in Sylva. A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Mack and Flora Viola Parker Clement. She enjoyed her garden, needlework, cooking, cleaning and taking care of her home. She was a member of Olivett Methodist Church. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Clarence, Carl, Bruce, Robert and Walter Clement. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lester Owen Daughter- Margaret Owen Cogdill of Webster Son- Kenneth Lee ( Buddy ) Owen and his wife Susan of Dillsboro Granddaughter- Amanda Owen Houston and her husband Mike of Hickory Great Grandson- Owen Michael Houston Brother- Fred Clement of Anderson, SC Several nieces and nephews also survive Funeral Services will be held 12 Noon Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Olivett Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Ousley officiating. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Appalachian Funeral Services.
