Obituary of Minnie Jo Jackson

Minnie Jo Jackson, age 89, of Sylva passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017. Minnie was born January 12, 1928 in Sylva, NC. She is the daughter of the late Odell and the late Grace (Dorsey) Bryson. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Jackson. She was a lifelong member at Liberty Baptist Church where she served many years as an usher. She is survived by her two children Leroy Jackson (Diane) of Sylva, NC and Odessa Burston of Douglasville, GA; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, four sisters Emma Lou Bryson of Sylva, NC, Yvonne McDowell of Sylva, NC, Doris Thomas of Medina, OH and Jackie Wilson of Atlanta, GA; three brothers Hubert Dean of Dayton, OH, Rev. Richard Bryson of Greenville, SC and Farrell Bryson of Greensboro, NC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by three daughters Mary Frances, Emma Jean and Marlyn; one grandson Jeff Jackson; four sisters and three brothers. Memorial Services will be held Saturday September 30, 2017 at 1:00pm at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lee and Rev. Richard Bryson officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the services. Appalachian Funeral Services are handling the arrangements.
