Obituary of Charles Ray Gibson

Charles Ray Gibson, 66, of the Pumpkintown community, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at his home in Sylva. Mr. Gibson loved building motorcycles, his Harley, and tattooing. He served in the Navy from 1971 to 1973 on the USS Saratoga. He was the son of the late Glenn and Jessie (Brooks) Gibson. Charles is survived by two sons; Jesse Gibson and Edward Orr, as well as five siblings: Ruby Allison, Myrtle Carvalho, Bill Gibson, Janie Benton, and Linda Walden. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two siblings: Edward Gibson, and Cumi Gibson Hensley. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 3rd at 4pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Reverend Jeff Massey officiating.
