Obituary of Ethel Thomasine Dillard

. Ethel Thomasine Dillard 88, of Sylva, passed away peacefully in her home Monday evening, October 16, 2017. She was born to Thomas and Martha Freeman in Waynesville on November 21, 1928. A loving wife and mother, she raised three sons with her husband George, who predeceased her. She is survived by three sons; Thom Dillard of Salisbury, John Dillard of Asheville, and Mike Dillard of Sylva; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Bill Freeman, Jim Freeman and Johnny Freeman. Services will be held in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Kim Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Lovedale Cemetery.
