Obituary of Marie Annette Burns

Marie Annette Burns, age 76, of Dillsboro passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017. She is the daughter of the late Leonard and Annie Mae Jones. She was married for 57 years to Bobby Harold Burns Sr. In addition to her husband she is survived by one son Bobby Harold Burns Jr. and his wife Wanda of Cullowhee, NC; one grandson Trevor Burns and his wife Jenny of Dillsboro, NC; and the joys of her life, her two great grandchildren Mason and Alyson Burns; one sister Jackie Brooks of Sylva, NC and two nephews John and Michael Brooks. She retired from Cullowhee Valley School as cafeteria manager where she was affectionately known as Nanny 'Net to the many children she cared for in that position. She enjoyed helping others and cooking for any occasion; no event was too big or too small. A visitation will be held Saturday October 21, 2017 at Appalachian Funeral Services from 5:00-7:00pm. Appalachian Funeral Services are handling arrangements for the family.
