Obituary of Bertha Lola Brown

Bertha L. Brown, 65, passed away Saturday March 3, 2012, at Memorial Mission Campus in Asheville. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Bernice Robinson Lanning. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking and taking care of her grandchildren. Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Lanning, and by a sister, Martha Grooms. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Johnny Brown 1 daughter- Rosa Calhoun of Whittier Granddaughter- Robin Calhoun, Grandson- David Romero 1 Sister- Betty Parris of Canton Several nieces and nephews also survive Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Robinson Cemetery, with the Rev.James "Bo" Brown officiating. At all other times, the family will be receiving friends at her daughters home in Whittier. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Funeral Home to cover burial expenses. . .
