Obituary of Berlin Cecil Middleton

Berlin Cecil Middleton, 71, of Tuckasegee, went home to be with The Lord, Friday afternoon October 27, 2017. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Cecil and Alda Brown Middleton. He was a member of Cedar Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. Berl was a U.S. Army Veteran; he served in Viet Nam where he received a Purple Heart. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Bud Shook and 2 of his sisters; Annie Ivester and Hazel Shook Ashe. He is survived by his wife of 24 years Debbie Hooper Middleton 2 Daughters- Melissa Rice of Franklin Megan Beck of Tuckasegee 1 Son- Justin Beck of Tuckasegee 2 Grandchildren- Matt (Ashley) Dillard of Cashiers Madison Rice of Cashiers 2 Sisters- Nettie Jean Holland of Mill Creek Wilma (Joe) McCall of Brevard Numerous nieces and nephews along with nephew Derek Gilbert of the USMC serving in Japan also survive A Memorial Service will be held 5:00 pm Wednesday November 1, in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Johnny Norris and Sherill Ammons officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the Service at the Funeral Home.
