Obituary of John Pink Davis

John P. Davis, age 81, of Whittier died Monday, October 30, 2017 at The Hermitage of Sylva, NC. John was the son of the late Willie and Pallie Davis. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Patsy Davis; one son, Johnny Ray (Ceretta) of Whittier; two daughters, Teresa (Michael) Wike of Bryson City, and Wilma Davis (Mark Jones) of Cashiers; two step sons, Phil Fisher of Cullowhee and David Fisher of Sylva; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters; Melida Wheatley and Lucy Jones both of Whittier and several nieces and nephews. John was an avid rabbit hunter and he loved training his beagles. He also loved Missy his Chihuahua and long-time companion. He loved building old cars and going to car shows. John was a member of Wilmot Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 1st at 2:00 p.m. at Wilmot Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Nations and the Rev. Johnny Ray Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Nations Creek Cemetery. Appalachian Funeral Services are handling arrangements for the family.
