Obituary of Aquilla Inez Farmer

Aquilla Inez Farmer, 84, of Sylva went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 11, 2017 surrounded by her family, at home in Sylva. Mrs. Farmer was born December 26, 1932 in Macon County. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (Carver) Henry. Aquilla loved gardening, crocheting, quilt making, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Laurel Branch Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Aquilla is preceded in death by her lovling husband of 60 years, Mack; one daughter, Frances; one great grandchild, Dakota, and one sister, Annie. She is survived by 6 sons and 2 daughters; Alvin (Betty) Farmer of Sylva; Jesse Farmer of Sylva; David (Doris) Farmer of Sylva; Nathan (Alesia) Farmer of Tuckasegee; Paul (Debbie) Farmer of Sylva; Thomas (Janice) Farmer of Middlefield, OH; Rebecca (the late Lloyd) Hoyle of Sylva, and Martha (Jerry) Connor of Sylva. 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and multiple nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends, Monday, November 13th, 2017 from 6pm until 8pm at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva. A funeral service is planned for Tuesday November 14th, 2017 at 10:30am in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Reverends Tommy Ashe & Eddie Stillwell officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Sols Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Appalachian Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
